How to quiet those Ruminative Thoughts

Step 1

If you can, take action. Write down the most positive outcome you’re looking for such as, I want to feel engaged at work and then create a plan to make it happen.

Step 2

Challenge your beliefs.  If you’re telling yourself,  something didn’t happen the correct way, take a more realistic approach.  It probably wasn’t all bad.

Step 3

Redirect your attention.  Clear your head with an engaging activity like Scrabble or tennis with a friend or catch with Fido — not with mindless TV
